The playground at Farr Park (26th Street and 13th Avenue) will be upgraded in 2023 to better serve the surrounding neighborhood's needs. The primary goal of this project is to build a new playground that fosters experience, growth, fun, and engagement for visitors.
Thank you to everyone that completed the playground survey and provided their ideas for a new playground at Josephine B. Jones Park. The survey is now closed.
What work will be done and where?
- The City will remove the existing playground equipment and upgrade it with newer, innovative, and more accessible play features.
- Crews will expand the existing playground footprint and add new equipment for all ages and abilities. This area currently includes a climbing wall and swings.
- The smaller toddler playground will be removed and replaced with other park amenities.
Construction will be limited to the playground area. Other sidewalks and open spaces in the park will not be affected.

El área de juegos en Farr Park (26th Street y 13th Avenue) sera renovada en el 2023 para servir mejor las necesidades del vecindario circundante. El objetivo principal de este proyecto es construir un nuevo parque infantil que fomente la experiencia, el crecimiento, la diversión y la participación de los visitantes.
Gracias a todos los que completaron la encuesta y proporcionaron sus ideas para una nueva área de juegos en Josephine B. Jones Park. La encuesta ya está cerrada.
¿Qué trabajo se está haciendo y en dónde?
- La Ciudad eliminará el equipo de juegos existente y lo actualizará con funciones de juego más nuevas, innovadoras y accesibles.
- Los trabajadores ampliarán el área de juegos existente y agregarán nuevos equipos para todas las edades y habilidades. Esta área actualmente incluye un muro para escalar y columpios.

What's the largest climbing boulder you can legally ship on U.S. highways? You can see it in person at Farr Park!
The climbing boulder is another big step in the Farr Park playground refresh providing 12 different routes to the top. It's also a great homage to the old climbing wall but with ten times the play.
Thank you to the our Greeley residents for sharing your ideas for this playground refresh and for your patience during construction.
What's next?
Plans are still in motion to add a picnic area and cornhole play stations. And, to help you handle the heat...two misters will be installed later this year.

The new playground at Farr Park is open! Stop by and try out the new zip line, wide slide, and climb to the top of the spider web tower. And we're not done yet. Coming in 2024 will be a new boulder climbing wall, picnic area and permanent cornhole station.

We couldn't be more excited about the new playground coming to Farr Park. But first, city crews need to demo the old playground and climbing wall and prepare the area for new water features and equipment. In November, staff will begin demolition and installation of the new playground, weather permitting.
Park visitors will see fencing around the construction area. Please do not climb over or tamper with the fencing. It's there to keep everyone safe.
