What We Heard
Thank you for helping map out our city and sharing places you love and places you think could use some improvement! 22 of you pinned 37 places between May - Oct 2022)!
Here's a recap of what we've heard:
Parks and Trails are important community gathering spots
Bittersweet | Sunrises are beautiful! |
Sherwood | The new pickleball courts are great |
Cottonwood | A neighborhood gem - however, could use some additional sidewalks |
Glenmere | Beautiful, especially when trees are in bloom - however, safety is now a bigger concern |
Josephine Jones Natural Area | Great, rugged place to run - more playground space would be great; and entrance to park via bike trail is not marked or easily accessible |
Shurview Natural Area | The acquisition is a great addition for the City |
Sanborn Park | Updates and upkeep are critical |
Bypass trail | Barbed-wire fence is blocking connectivity to bike trail at the intersection of 50th and the trail; would be great to connect, so that people don't have to go down to 47th Ave. Trail would also benefit from a courtesy mow strip on either side so that noxious weeds (such as goat-heads) don't lead to flat bike tires |
There is a deep appreciation for our neighborhood "hubs"
Weldwerks | World-renowned brewery, with an owner who is committed to the city |
9th Street Plaza | Lively/fun - would prefer that it was closed to vehicle traffic |
Warm Hugs | Fun shop and a great use of an historic building |
Greeley West High School | Great new facility for the community |
Centennial Village | Wonderful place - does not get enough use |
Improvements to our city's transit, pedestrian, and bike system are a priority
Intersection of 35 and 27th Street | Needs traffic light |
Intersection of 8th Ave and 28th Street | Needs attention |
Intersection of 6th Ave and 13th Street | Could be cleaned up so that it becomes more walkable |
NW C Street & 21st Ave to B Street & 17th Ave | Needs roadwork (can be dangerous, as asphalt on the north side drops off in some places, and south side is uneven by the railroad tracks) |
Intersection of 50th Ave and 10th Street | Could use a pedestrian crossing sign to warn drivers |
Area behind Chik-Fil-A | Hazardous, with conflicting traffic signs - needs to be investigated |
Crosswalk at 23rd Ave and 20th Street | Not accessible to people in wheelchairs |
Riverside community | Could use better access and a traffic light |
85 to 23rd Ave | Dangerous during morning/afternoon rush |
Neighborhood safety is important
Alley near intersection of 4th Ave and 26th Street | Unsafe, especially given the proximity to a school district facility |
Lincoln Park | Safety concerns - may impact whether people choose to visit the park with their families |
There are opportunities for Greeley to continue to be thoughtful about developing new amenities
6632 W. 19th Street | Could be a great area for senior condos |
Recent expansion near 34 and 257 | Because of the growth in residents in this area, a school is needed. Currently, children are bussed to Windsor for elementary and Severance for middle/high school |
Downtown | Would be great to install family-friendly features like splash pads in parks |
