Fun and Sun for a Day of Adventure

Thank you to everyone who came out to support this project and enjoy the beauty the natural area has to offer. It was fun to imagine how it will transform once the site plan is revealed and work can begin. It was a beautiful day but it was hot! Shade structures could one day be on the property and provide respite from the hot Colorado sun. Thank you to Armando Silva for his vibrant illustrations and story, "My Great Adventure with Nana." It was special to hear the book read in several languages as interpreted by volunteers through the High Plains Library District.

Children enjoyed listening to the book, making wildflower seedling jars, collecting stickers, and coloring. Wildlife talks helped kids learn what animals call this place home by showing them and feeling their pelts. The ice cream truck and taco truck were big hits. Look for more adventure opportunities in the future and thank you again to our partners who made this event possible:
