Funding

What are the specific strategies for implementing the new bus system designs, and how will they be funded?

The Gallop brand will be introduced in phases to minimize service disruptions while keeping transit operating as normal. As buses, bus shelters and bus benches are updated, riders will gradually begin seeing the new Gallop branding throughout the system. Twelve buses are expected to receive the new branding by Dec. 31, 2026, with the remaining 12 expected by Dec. 31, 2027.

Implementation of the new branding is funded through a public-private partnership with Lamar Advertising. Lamar is covering the cost of installing the new branding on buses, bus shelters and bus benches, as well as refurbishing existing shelters and benches. In return, Lamar will recover its investment through advertising revenue over the 10-year agreement.

Is the City using taxpayer money for this project?

No. No City, state or federal funds are being used to pay for the rebranding.

    How does partnership benefit Lamar?

Lamar will recover its investment through advertising revenue over the life of its 10-year agreement.

Why are we rebranding the transit system?

The Gallop brand reflects how transit in northern Colorado is evolving. While Greeley-Evans Transit (GET) has served the community well for decades, the name primarily reflects service between Greeley and Evans. The transit system is evolving to include expanded routes, stronger regional connections and a broader range of mobility services.

The Gallop brand better represents that broader vision and creates a unified identity as transit continues to grow and serve more communities throughout the region.

Will I be able to use my GET bus pass on the new buses?

Yes! Your GET bus pass will work on any and all of the new Gallop buses.

Why will both the GET and Gallop buses be providing service in the community at the same time?

The rebranding will happen in phases as buses and transit amenities are updated. This approach minimizes service disruptions and allows Lamar to complete the work over the contract schedule. Twelve buses are expected to receive the new branding by Dec. 31, 2026, with the remaining 12 expected by Dec. 31, 2027. During this time, riders will see both GET and Gallop branded buses operating until the transition is complete.

When will Gallop be fully launched and implemented?

Twelve buses are expected to be rebranded by Dec. 31, 2026. The remaining 12 buses are expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2027. Bus shelters and benches will also be updated as part of the phased rollout.

What services are offered through Gallop?

Gallop represents a broader regional mobility network designed to connect people to the transportation options that best meet their needs. Gallop includes fixed-route bus service, paratransit service for eligible riders and regional transit connections. It also supports accessible transportation, with features such as wheelchair-accessible buses and amenities that make public transit easier to use for riders of all abilities.

Will existing bus shelters or benches be replaced?

The transit rebrand includes updating the appearance of bus shelters and benches across the system. In some locations, older shelters may also be replaced if they have reached the end of their useful life or if site improvements are planned.
