How is Gallop funded?

The rollout and implementation of the brand is made possible through a public-private partnership with Lamar Advertising. As part of the agreement, Lamar is funding the rebranding of buses, bus shelters and bus benches, as well as refurbishing existing shelters and benches throughout the system. In return, Lamar will recover its investment through advertising revenue during the 10-year contract.

The Gallop brand strategy, community engagement and design were completed separately through federal grant funding. Because Lamar is covering the implementation costs, no additional City, state or federal funding is being used to install the new branding. This partnership allows the City to modernize the transit system while reducing costs to taxpayers.

Implementation will occur in phases to avoid service disruptions. The goal is to wrap 12 buses by December 31 and the remaining 12 will be completed by December 31, 2027.

Visit our Funding FAQs to learn more about the partnership and how the transit rebrand is being paid for. If you don't see your question answered, you can submit it here via the question tool and our team will be happy to help.
