16th Street Enhacement Project - 11/24 Update

Progress continues along the 16th Street corridor as crews advance concrete, drainage, and streetscape improvements. Work remains focused on keeping the project moving forward while maintaining safe access for pedestrians and westbound traffic. The team currently plans on opening the eastbound lane on 16th Street by November 30, with some access restrictions on the south side of 10th Avenue to ensure public safety.

Work Complete

  • Travel continues to be westbound only. Traffic signals have been removed, and intersections now operate as partial roundabouts.

  • Trench drain installation between 9th and 11th Avenues.

  • Installation of underground drainage and manholes at 16th Street and 9th Avenue.

  • Concrete pavement pours at 9th Avenue roundabout.

  • Concrete pavement pours between 10th and 11th Street.

Work Ongoing

  • Curb and gutter placement from 9th to 10th Avenue.

  • Electrical and irrigation conduits installed between 9th and 10th Avenue.

  • Sidewalk pours from 9th to 10th Avenue.

  • Concrete pavement pours between 9th and 10th Avenue.

Upcoming Work

  • Concrete seat wall and masonry wall construction.

  • Curb and gutter pours at the 16th Street and 10th Avenue roundabout.

  • Concrete pavement pours at the 16th Street and 10th Avenue roundabout.

Progress on the south side of 16th Street is now 50% complete.
