16th Street Enhancement Project - 10/13 update

Our crews continue to make strong progress on the south side of 16th Street. Sidewalk and curb demolition between 8th and 11th Avenues is now complete, and pavement and utility work are well underway. To keep the project on schedule, crews will be working on Saturdays.

Work Complete

  • Travel is only open to westbound traffic on 16th Street; traffic signals have been removed or bagged, and the intersections are now partial roundabouts

  • Sidewalk and curb & gutter demolition on the south side of 16th Street is complete from 8th to 11th Avenue

Work Ongoing

  • Subgrade removal and compaction between 8th and 11th Avenue

  • Underground drainage piping and manholes are being installed at 16th Street & 9th Avenue

  • Sidewalk paving from 10th to 11th Avenue

Upcoming Work

  • Concrete pavement pours between 8th and 9th Avenues

  • Curb and gutter from 9th to 10th Avenue

Construction on the south side of 16th Street is now 14% complete.
