16th Street Enhancement Project - 10/6 update

REMINDER: Keep Supporting Local Favorites – every cafe, shop and service along 16th Street is open during construction. Stop by and show your continued support!

Crews continue to make strong progress on the south side of 16th Street, with this stage now 11% complete. Underground drainage installation at 9th Avenue is underway, and you will soon start seeing new pavement and curb take shape between 8th and 10th Avenues.

Work Complete

  • Travel is open to westbound traffic on 16th Street. Traffic signals have been removed or bagged, and the intersections are partial roundabouts.

  • Remaining light poles have been removed on the south side of 16th Street, and temporary lighting has been placed

  • Sidewalk and curb & gutter demolition on the south side of 16th Street is completed from 8th to 10th Avenue

Work Ongoing

  • Subgrade removal and re-compaction between 8th and 11th Avenue

  • Sidewalk and curb & gutter demolition on the south side of the street is underway from 10th Avenue heading west towards 11th Avenue

Upcoming Work

  • Concrete pavement pours between 8th and 9th Avenues

  • Curb and gutter installation from 9th to 10th Avenue
