16th Street Enhancement Project - 11/17 update

REMINDER: Even with ongoing work along 16th Street, local businesses in and around the construction zone remain open and ready to serve you. Storefronts are reachable and excited to welcome you as holiday shopping commences.

Construction Update

Progress continues as crews made major headway on concrete paving and drainage improvements. With significant drainage structures in place and pavement progressing block by block, the corridor is increasingly taking shape. Crews will continue working on Saturdays to keep the project moving forward.

Work Complete

  • The street is open to westbound traffic on 16th Street. Traffic signals have been removed, and the intersections are now partial roundabouts.

  • Trench drain installation between 9th and 11th Avenue

  • Underground drainage piping and manhole installation at 16th Street and 9th Avenue

  • Concrete pavement pours at the 9th Avenue roundabout and 16th Street

  • Concrete pavement pours between 10th and 11th Avenue

Work Ongoing

  • Curb and gutter placement from 9th to 10th Avenue

  • Sidewalk pours from 9th to 10th Avenue

  • Concrete pavement pours between 9th and 10th Avenue

Upcoming Work

  • Concrete seat wall and masonry wall construction

  • Curb and gutter pours at 16th Street and 10th Avenue roundabout

  • Concrete pavement pours at 16th Street and 10th Avenue roundabout

The work on the south side of 16th Street is now 40% complete.
