16th Street Enhancement Project Update - 11/3

Last week, crews made strong progress on underground drainage and concrete paving between 9th and 11th Avenues. Work on sidewalks as well as curb and gutters is taking shape, creating the foundation for a safer roadway for everyone. Crews will continue working Saturdays to help keep the project on schedule.

Work Complete

  • Travel is open to westbound traffic on 16th Street. Traffic signals have been removed or bagged, and intersections are now partial roundabouts

  • Trench drain installation between 10th and 11th Avenue

Work Ongoing

  • Curb & gutter placement from 9th to 11th Avenue

  • Sidewalk pours from 9th to 10th Avenue

  • Concrete pavement pours at 9th Avenue and 16th Street

  • Concrete pavement pours between 10th and 11th Avenue

Upcoming Work

  • Curb and gutter pours between 9th and 10th Avenue

  • Concrete pavement pours between 9th and 10th Avenue

Construction on the south side of 16th Street is now 24% complete. Crews will continue concrete and drainage work through the fall. Final landscaping and public art installations will occur in Spring 2026, once weather and planting conditions allow.
