16th Street Enhancement Project Update (updated 8/11)

REMINDER: All businesses along the corridor remain open during construction. Your support of these storefronts is more important than ever, so drop in to your favorite 16th Street restaurant or business this week!

Here’s your weekly construction update for the 16th Street Corridor project:

Work Completed

  • 16th Street Eastbound remains closed, with all-way stops at each intersection.

  • Sidewalk and curb/gutter pours are complete between 10th and 11th Avenues.

  • Concrete roadway paving has also been completed between 10th and 11th Avenues.

Work Ongoing

  • Sidewalk and curb/gutter removal and replacement continue on the north side of 16th Street between 9th and 10th Avenues.

  • Concrete pavement pours are in progress between 8th and 9th Avenues.

Work Upcoming

  • Installation of underground irrigation, as well as culverts and drainpipes

  • Continued concrete pavement pours between 9th and 10th Avenues

Project Timeline

  • Work on the north side of 16th Street is on schedule for completion by the end of August 2025.

  • Construction will then shift to the south side, with work wrapping up in Fall 2025.

  • Final landscaping and public art installations will follow in Spring 2026, when weather and conditions allow.
