16th Street Enhancement Project Updates - 10/27

REMINDER: Businesses along 16th Street are open and ready to serve you! Your continued support means a lot to our local shops and restaurants during construction. Stop by and see the progress while enjoying everything 16th Street has to offer.

Last week, crews continued important underground drainage and utility work to strengthen long-term infrastructure along 16th Street. Drainage improvements and curb and gutter installation progress, moving steadily west.

Work Complete

  • Travel is open to westbound traffic on 16th Street, traffic signals have been removed or bagged, and intersections are now partial roundabouts

  • Sidewalk and curb & gutter demolition on the south side of 16th Street is complete from 8th to 11th Avenue

  • Sidewalk paving from 10th to 11th Avenue

Work Ongoing

  • Subgrade removal and re-compaction work between 9th and 11th Avenue is underway to prepare for paving

  • Curb & gutter placement from 9th to 11th Avenue

  • Additional drainage work, including trench drain installation between 10th and 11th Avenue

Upcoming Work

  • Concrete pavement pours between 9th & 10th Avenue

  • Trench drain installation between 9th and 10th Avenue

  • Curb and gutter placement from 9th and 10th Avenue

Construction on the south side of 16th Street is now 20% complete. Work continues to move west toward 8th Avenue. Final landscaping and public art installations will occur in Spring 2026, once weather and planting conditions allow.
