Budget Team Shares Long Range Financial Update with Council in 8/25 Work Session

At the August 25 City Council work session, Budget and Policy Director Nathan Mosley shared a Long Range Financial Update with council.

The update reviewed Greeley's structural deficit in the General Fund and the work staff has done to address it. This work included target-based budgeting, limiting hiring, reviewing service levels, identifying inefficiencies, and making difficult budget decisions. The goal was to protect essential services while creating a more sustainable budget.

The result: Greeley has strengthened its financial outlook and is moving toward long-term stability.

The 2027 recommended budget will be completed on September 4 and available for public review here: https://greeleyco.gov/finance/budget/. Council will review the recommended 2027 General Fund budget at a budget retreat on September 11.
