License Plate Readers in Greeley ~ What's your take?

0% answered

License Plate Readers in Greeley Survey

The Greeley Police Department uses automated license plate readers (ALPRs) to help find stolen vehicles, missing people and vehicles connected to crimes. We know residents care about both public safety and privacy, and we want to understand your views.

This short survey takes about 5–7 minutes. Along the way, we'll share some facts about how the program works today. Every question is optional, and your answers are anonymous. Results will be shared with City Council and the Police Department and posted publicly.

Quick facts before you start

  • Cameras read license plates and vehicle details. They do not use facial recognition.
  • Data is deleted after 21 days unless it's needed as evidence in a criminal case.
  • Only trained, authorized staff can search the data, and every search needs a case number and a documented reason.
  • Since September 2026, Greeley has stopped all out-of-state and national data sharing and started monthly audits.
