New Playground is Open and Ready for Play

This project replaced a decades-old playground with new equipment designed for a broader age range and abilities. The space also serves as the main outdoor play area for Brentwood Middle School, making it a shared space for students and the surrounding neighborhood.
Community and student input helped shape the final design. In fall 2025, residents shared feedback through an online survey, highlighting the need for shade, accessibility and more play options. Brentwood Middle School students also reviewed design options and voted on their preferred features.
The final design includes:
- a large play tower with multiple slides
- climbers, including a pyramid-shaped net climber
- bucket, bench, saucer and adaptive swings
- an obstacle course
- a spinner suitable for 3-5 kids on it at once
- an accessible seesaw with four adaptive seats
What makes this playground enjoyable is that it was designed for a broad age range. Brentwood Middle School parents often have kids in nearby Meeker and Jackson elementary school. This playground update provides a single place for siblings and different age groups to play.
