about 2 years agoImagine it's 2032...10 years from now. If you could create an ideal future for the City of Greeley, what would that future look like?

I can't seem to grasp the focus on 16th street and the Cranford area projects, when intersections like 35th avenue and 28th street are in dire need of fixing. Stopping on 28th street at 35th avenue is a total crapshoot if you're looking to cross 35th avenue. Southbound traffic can never seem to figure out the dual turn lanes with no understanding that that eastern most turn lane north of 28th street is to turn east onto 28th street while the west turn lane is designated for vehicles choosing either of the two turn lanes. Please don't get me started on the revamped downtown traffic flow. The 16th street project mentions some touches happening in the 1500 block of 9th avenue. The parking on this street alone is a total joke! Some spaces are designated diagonal parking only with 2 or three parallel spaces painted between different sets of diagonal spaces. And definitely take notice to the 9th avenue westbound turn lane as you approach 16th street. You must possess sharp reflexes to make the quick and snappy turn to enter the right turn lane! The city created a similar debacle on 10th street when turning east from 8th avenue. Following the motorist traffic code, a driver must enter the closest lane; however, if you are not planning to visit Carl Jr's then hold onto your shorts as you quickly steer your vehicle into the next lane! All throughout the downtown area are designated turn lanes, but there are no designated turn arrows for purposes of traffic control. Talk about a total traffic jam cluster, especially if that lead car doesn't extend itself out into the intersection in order to make the turn as the light changes from yellow to red. The 1400 block of 15th street near Greeley Central High School is a total disaster every morning and afternoon throughout the school year. The city years ago, reduced 15th street to accommodate bicycle lanes and did not add a left turn arrow to the signal controlled intersections. If the lead car is waiting to turn left then good luck getting through the intersection! I suppose you could do what most parents seems to have figured out and just use the designated bicycle lanes and vehicular turn lanes. No safety issues there! I would love to see these issues all addressed long before we worry about accommodating more pedestrian traffic along 16th street or sprucing up the already beautiful Glenmere area. I'm thankful that Bittersweet Park is returning back to it's old self. It has a new name in my circle; dubbed as "Bitterweed Park." The median area on 16th street between 35th avenue and 40th avenue is a giant eyesore. Do something to "beautify" it instead of wasting more money on projects that need to be fixed after they are done incorrectly.

City employees identify and document homeowners derelict in maintaining their properties, according to city code.

Some neighborhoods have rules of reasons people can't park.

Whenever Channel 9 news shows a picture of Greeley, it is of a grassy area of UNC. Could their camera be moved to the west end of town pointed west to see our beautiful sunsets and mountain views? Would be a better image of Greeley.

Bring some things to do into Greeley! A beautiful rock climbing gym like the ascent in fort collins would be amazing! No more dentist offices and tire shops, there's too many things like that and not as many activities and attractions. All these apartment buildings are being built everywhere but there isnt a big uptick in businesses such as resturants, activities, and interesting things to do. Let's get a rock climbing gym!
