Why is the City moving the water lines?

Many of the existing water lines are old and located in backyards, where repairs can be difficult and disruptive. Moving them to the front of homes makes future repairs easier, faster, and less disruptive to private property.

What improvements will this project provide?

The project will improve water service reliability, reduce the need for future repairs, and improve fire protection in the neighborhood.

Will my sewer line be moved?

No. Sewer lines will remain in place. Only water lines and water meters are being relocated.

What is happening on my property?

A new water meter will be installed in the front yard, and your home will be connected to the new water line. The old backyard water line will be taken out of service and abandoned.

How long will the project last?

The project will continue in phases through 2026. Additional timing for later phases will be shared as work progresses.

Will I lose water service during construction?

There may be temporary water shutoffs during certain parts of construction. The City will notify affected residents in advance of planned shutoffs whenever possible. Unplanned outages may also occur, but they are expected to last only a few hours.

    Will roads be closed?

Some roads may have temporary closures or lane reductions during active construction. Traffic delays are expected, especially on 11th Avenue between 24th and 25th Streets.

Will I still be able to access my home?

Crews will work to maintain access to homes during construction. Access may be temporarily limited at times, but accommodations will be made whenever possible.

Where should I park during construction?

Residents may park in their driveways on weekdays between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. and all day on weekends, unless otherwise posted.

What if traffic control changes near my home?

Traffic control may change as construction progresses. Residents should check this page regularly for updated traffic information, closures, and access details.

What should I do if I think construction damaged my property?

Please contact the City as soon as possible to report the issue before making repairs, if possible. Reporting concerns promptly helps the City review the situation and determine next steps.
