Why Now?
Greeley is experiencing change and has a rich agricultural heritage, complemented by open spaces and expanding commercial areas. Now is the ideal moment to create a clear plan that benefits the entire community while preserving our roots.

Eastern Greeley has a strong farming background, growing commercial areas, and beautiful open spaces near the South Platte and Poudre Rivers. It's also where many of Greeley's early families lived and worked. View the area map.

By planning ahead, we can:

  • Protect farmland and open space
  • Support existing neighborhoods and businesses
  • Prepare for roads, water and services
  • Respect the area's history and character
  • Make smart choices for future development

A Community-Driven Plan

The East Greeley Subarea Plan will be built with input from the community. This planning effort also supports other project initiatives, like the Greeley on the Go 2045 transportation plan and the City's strategic priorities.

Key focus areas include:

  • Land use and urban design: What gets built and where

  • Mobility and transportation choices: Roads, walking, biking and access to the airport
