Peak View Playground Replacement
The City of Greeley plans to replace Peak View Park's playground to enhance recreational opportunities and better serve the neighborhood’s growing needs. The new playground will feature modern, inclusive equipment for children, improved safety surfacing, and updated amenities that encourage active play and community gathering. Community input will help guide the final design to ensure the new space reflects local priorities and supports family-friendly recreation.

Your feedback will help shape the design for the new playground. Please take our online survey below to provide feedback.
Why This Park?
The playground has provided 15 years of play and now presents an exciting opportunity for enhancement. Equipment and surfacing no longer meet updated safety standards and suffer from sun degradation, wear, and tear.

Exciting changes are coming to Peak View Park! After hearing from residents through our community survey, we've selected a playground vendor and design that reflects many of the features families told us they wanted most.
What we heard:
- More climbing opportunities and challenging play experiences
- Inclusive and accessible play for children of all abilities
- Unifying theme that incorporates some of the animal sculptures
- Separate play areas for younger and older children
What we’re doing:
- Installing a brand-new playground with dedicated areas for ages 2-5 and ages 5-12
- Adding a large climbing structure, nets, and elevated play elements with slides inspired by community feedback
- Adding a large spinner motion play element
- Incorporating accessible play opportunities throughout the playground
- Preserving and integrating the park's iconic panda sculpture into the new play experience
The selected concept features a nature-inspired play environment with climbing towers, slides, sensory elements, and imaginative play opportunities designed to encourage exploration, physical activity, and fun for children of all ages.
We're excited to transform Peak View Parks’ Playground into a modern, accessible, and engaging destination for the community. Construction is anticipated to begin later this year, with the goal of reopening the playground in Fall of 2026.

We want to provide an update on the work this entails. You can see from the project lifecycle that this phase is “Design Team Selection." Using the feedback from residents via the digital survey, the team packaged it with the project budget and scope of work and sent it to playground design companies. This package is called a Request for Proposals, or RFP. It's basically the city's way of saying, "here's what our community needs and what we have to spend; show us your ideas." Design companies then respond with their ideas, experience, and approximate costs, etc. The Parks team then reviews each submission to find the design company whose plan best matches those requirements.
Stay tuned for our next update, which will be the selected design team and a glimpse at their playground design for Peak View!
