That event kicked off an exciting visioning process for western Greeley, and now we’re ready to share what your input helped create. Join the City of Greeley, Speck Dempsey, and Able City on January 26 to see the updated regional plan and draft form-based code and help shape the next phase of this work.
This open house will give residents, business owners, and stakeholders an opportunity to see how community feedback has guided the planning process so far. Updated concepts will be available for review along with opportunities to ask questions, share insights, and help refine the direction of the regional plan.

That message was central to the July 9 community visioning event for the West Greeley Subarea Plan, where residents joined city staff and planning experts to help shape a thoughtful path forward.
The evening featured a keynote from Jeff Speck—nationally recognized urban planner and author of Walkable City—who shared insights on how walkability, transportation, and housing design can drive long-term livability and economic success. Hosted at the Aims Welcome Center, the event marked the official kickoff of the subarea planning process for western Greeley.

Speck, a fellow of the American Institute of Certified Planners and the Congress for New Urbanism, is known for his work designing walkable, human-scaled communities across the country.
His keynote presentation in Greeley focused on the economic and social benefits of thoughtful planning—emphasizing how walkability, housing diversity, and transportation design can support long-term growth and quality of life.

The City of Greeley invites residents to take part in a community visioning event to help shape the future of western Greeley. The event will be held on Wednesday, July 9 at 6 p.m. at the Aims Welcome Center, 4901 West 20th Street.
As part of the West Greeley Subarea Plan, the evening will feature a keynote presentation by Jeff Speck—nationally recognized urban planner, walkability expert, and author of Walkable City. Attendees will also participate in interactive activities designed to gather community input on topics such as housing, parks, transportation, and job access.
