The City of Greeley is starting a new and exciting phase of growth. We will be kicking off several planning projects to ensure that development fits the needs and values of our community. We are beginning with the West Subarea Plan project. We want to hear your opinions to ensure that this plan, and others in the future, reflect what is important to you.

Why Now?

With direct access to US 34 and US 85 and expansive views of Longs Peak and the Rockies, western Greeley is set to become a cornerstone of Northern Colorado’s growth. As part of a broader planning effort across Greeley, this area will benefit from thoughtful, inclusive planning that reflects community values, protects natural resources, and supports a vibrant, connected future for everyone.

The City of Greeley is teaming with Speck Dempsey and Able City to create a plan and code for the future development of Greeley.

A Community-Driven Plan

Greeley's West Subarea Plan will be a visionary, yet practical, roadmap shaped by the people who know the area best—you. This plan will support the city's goals, including Greeley on the Go 2045. It will use a straightforward design approach to shape neighborhoods, streets, and public spaces.

Key focus areas include:

  • Land use and urban design

  • Mobility and transportation choices

  • Parks, public spaces, and recreation

  • Housing diversity

  • Environmental stewardship

  • Equitable and transparent implementation

This planning effort reflects Greeley’s strategic priorities: business growth, community vitality, safe and secure neighborhoods, housing for all, quality of life amenities, sustainable infrastructure, and effective local government.
